Procurement Engineer

Job Purpose

The Procurement Engineer (CAPEX) is responsible for managing the procurement of capital expenditure (CAPEX) materials, equipment, and services for construction and hospitality projects. The role ensures the timely acquisition of high-quality goods and services at competitive costs while maintaining compliance with technical specifications, contractual requirements, and company procurement policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or a related discipline).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in engineering procurement, with hands-on experience in CAPEX procurement.
• Good command of the English language (written and spoken).
• Previous experience in hospitality, hotel, or large-scale construction projects is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the procurement of materials, equipment, and services for CAPEX (Capital Expenditure) projects.
• Prepare and manage RFQs/RFPs and evaluate technical and commercial proposals.
• Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best commercial terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.
• Coordinate with engineering and project teams to ensure procured items meet technical specifications and project requirements.
• Identify, evaluate, and develop qualified local and international suppliers.
• Monitor purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
• Support contract administration and resolve commercial issues with suppliers.
• Control procurement costs and identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and risk management requirements.
• Prepare procurement reports and maintain accurate procurement documentation.

Requirements

• Proven experience in CAPEX procurement.
• Experience in construction, hospitality, and hotel projects.
• Strong understanding of procurement processes, contract management, and Incoterms.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Strong negotiation, supplier relationship management, and analytical skills.
